Hello,

I'm new on here and have a question. I have a 109 S3 and an issue with the rear hub leaking oil. Is this the hub seal failed and if so how urgent is it to fix? Will a couple of weeks (or approx 50 miles) do or is it an urgent job?

Thanks

Bill

That's not. Hub seal leak

It's a leak between the hub and drive flange.
Easiest fix, try nipping up the 6 bolts, they often come slack
If that doesn't work then remove and fit a new gasket. (Note if you remove the halfshaft comes with it. Thus you loose the handbrake, so chock the vehicle)

There is a felt washer under the hub cap nut that can leak, or on very late ones a o-ring they rarely leak, unless a po has messed about

My money is on slack nuts n the hubs
