Latest update:
I have removed the "in-line" fuel filter (and sent it to god)
I have replaced the Webber with a Zenith 361V which I have put a kit through and "flattened" all the mating surfaces.
I have also removed the fuel pick up pipe from the tank and ensured there is no blockage or obstruction in that or in any of the fuel lines.
The problem it is not as bad as it was BUT it is still straving for fuel at the top end of the "rev-range" immediatelty after a "hot start".
The only possible solution I can think of is the new fuel pump is dodgey.
I need some positive thoughts this driving me NUTS.
