....as I was re-doing this uj last night, I thought I'd take a few pictures and sling up a how to for any that might need it
...first remove the propshaft and thoroughly clean around the bearing caps and circlips before starting, also mark the yokes with either a dot or two of paint or scribe some marks to ensure that when you re-assemble the yokes you end up with them exactly as they were originally - failure to do this can throw the prop right out of balance and cause loads of lovely unwanted vibrations and premature failure of your new uj....
...next remove the 4 circlips using circlip pliers (if they're old and grotted in, a squirt or two of wd40 works wonders)
....next put the assembly in a vice, and using a 19mm socket or similar, press the first bearing cap in towards the spider in the centre of the joint
....then add a 1" 1/4 or similar sized socket to the other side of the joint and continue pressing until the joint will move no further
....remove the sockets, and using a pair of pliers/ mole grips/ your teeth, extract the bearing cap that is now standing proud of the joint
....by pushing the spider towards the now capless part of the joint you should be able to manoeuvre the opposite cap out and separate the first part of the joint.....this can be a pain at times!
...now start on the other 2 caps in the same manner as before....press the caps though with your sockets
....remove the now proud cap, as before
...and manoeuvre the spider out fully....give the yokes a good clean up and ensure that there are no burrs in the cap holes before attempting to fit your new uj
....take your new joint and remove one of the bearing caps from it
...put a dab of grease into the cap, and spread it around the inside with your finger being careful to avoid dislodging the needle rollers within.....this grease will help to keep the rollers in position as you re-assemble the joint
....now do the same with the opposite cap to the one that you've just greased.
