i have used a black mastic on mine alex, went round the buklhead and then offered up the seal and closed the vent on it. It has stuck like
****
to a blanket which may cause problems should they ever need to be removed.

I ran a bead of black tiger seal around the opening offered up the seal and shut the vent fully.

Stick to the bulkhead,
not
the vents, then keep the vents closed for a month or so.
I used clear silicone to affix mine many years ago, & have had no probs since
