Land Rover Photography / Re: How do you post pics?
« Last post by Theshed on 20 July 2023, 07:41:54 pm »
I was surprised how easy it was to post pics.
Open a free account at Flickr, upload pic' from your PC. Once on the Flickr site click on the 'img' link and drag it to this page via the open tab on your 'puta.
Simples. It was honest !

I will be amazed if this works but hopefully a picture of a Series 2 slowly being devoured by a hungry hedge !
I took this a couple of weeks ago not far from where I live.
A couple of years ago when most of the Landie was still visible I knocked a couple of times leaving my details asking if they wanted to sell.
As you can see. There was no response, and now only the bonnet and bumper are visible.  :(

Well, all booked for the Swiss meeting, ferry from Dover due to spiralling costs, a drive through France to Swiss, a bit far for the series one, so the series three will be the vehicle of choice, Harry (no 1 son) is meeting me there in his landy, so looks good.
Next english event will be LATP, hope to see some of you there even if its for a day :smilewide:

Pair of Selectro Free Wheel Hubs, taken off Series LandRover.
One side does not engage as a spring tang has snapped on selector.
Think I over-wound it but did work fine before my stupid mistake.
£55 ono ?

Hi long time lurker, then long time forgetter, 8 years possibly?.

Thought I had better say hello.

Proper forums like this **** all over social media but the patronage is not as strong anymore.

I spend most time looking at the S2 Club Forum, just remembered this one.

I have 6 Land Rovers 59, 62, 63, 68, 69 and 72.  All but 2 are SWB the 69 LWB is my daily drive.  I am in Australia so a long way from the action.

Anyway hi and hope you are all well.

Technical tips & Questions / Revenue ?

Random question.
I notice on the top of each forum page there are pop ups of various ad's.
If I click on these randomly does it help the forum with funds ?
I enter the Free Post Code Lottery and that is how they raise money. Is this the same ?

Technical tips & Questions / Re: Sound Proofing

Yes, it's the bitumen & foil on a rather heavy roll. I have put some in the upper footwells and will use something moveable on the floor 'conveyor belting' perhaps.
Door panels are next then. I will see if I can put some on engine side of bulkhead. Not sure about bonnet, it heavy enough as it is !
How about the inner wings ? Fully waxoyled underneath so it would have to be visible, it silver so not sure how I feel about that ?

I reckon I’d start thinking about both sides of the bulkhead, and footwells.
Stick some on the inside door skins, and bung some conveyor belting on the floor panels.
Oh, an there’s the tunnel of course.

My only ‘soundproofing’ is a piece of artificial turf that covers the floors and tunnel.😁

Technical tips & Questions / Re: Sound Proofing

Which type of soundproofing is it? The bitumen stuff doesn't need to cover the whole panel as it's just there to add mass and cut down on the panel vibrating/resonating.

I've used the bitumen & foil based on most of the panels which sound tinny, this made a lot vibration/resonating noise go. On the engine side of the bulkhead I have noise killer foam and lead sandwich and dyno mat on the bonnet.
The tub has mass loaded vinyl on the wheel arches.

Fairly quiet in mine now but the down side is i'm now hearing and chasing down annoying rattles and squeaks which were previously masked by the general din. Able to have a conversation with rear area passengers now without having to shout.

Technical tips & Questions / Sound Proofing

I have bought a roll of Dodo sound proofing for my SWB diesel hard top.
There appears to be plenty on the roll but any suggestions for areas I should prioritise ?
