Thanks for the information, I'd net even heard of 10 unf until a few days ago.

TPI Diameter Pitch Core Angle
2BA
31.35 0.185" 0.0319 0.1468 47.5 inc
10 UNF
32 0.190" 0.0342 0.156 60 inc
There are in reality only minor differences between 2ba and 10 unf given class of fit and manufacturing tolerances.
2ba will be OK in 10 unf tapping

The dash screws are 2ba i know as i have aquired some for mine, not sure what the diference is.

Thanks Divie, I've kept at it with brick acid so have now clean threads, I still would like to know what if any difference there is between 10 unf and 2ba.
-
my thread charts are all at work, i will look on monday i think they are the same apart from flank angle of thread but should not make much difference. or try google the thread and look at the sizes to compare. if you pm me an address i can probably find a 2ba and post it to you if your not in a rush. also try threads europe for taps he is ok on prices.

Or more precisely 2ba or not 2ba?
2 Dash to bulkhead machine screws part number 257020 seem to have been superseded by part number SH910241L which is 10unf x 3/4.
Is 10 unf the same as 2ba? I need to clean out the galv from my bulk head so need to know so I can order a tap set, if they are the same thread there is a reasonable price difference between a 2ba set and a 10 unf set.
