Pete, we didn't see you too. Popped into Newbury on the way back from a good friend of mine, thought it was a good day and got loads of
tat quality stuff :)) Tried to see how much stuff we could get into the newly acquired Bingo Berlongo, not as much as first thought :smiley-furious:
Anyway, I got some of those stands for a pressie one Christmas and IMHO they are good stuff and a I don't think you will go wrong with those!
-
ive used a set of them, think they were steifbears and i found them very good, very quick to use and dead easy to drop down.
-
Fate would have it I ended up passing a branch of MM in Pompey today, £36 later i have some big stands ;D
I will report back on their effectiveness.

Idid make it to Newbury, although in the wifes Disgay, I didn't see anyone there.
TBH some time ago i noticed the reinforcing on the rear axle casing had a small hole in,I ignored it, it got bigger.
The N/S hub has been leaking oil since i bought it, but the brakes have always worked fine so I ignored it.
The diff nose has been leaking for a while...
At the Christmas do Muckypup kindly donated a rear axle casing which has been travelling/banging around JE style in the rear tub since
As Ive been off work after a minor op (not stone related) and the weather has been good,if a little cold, I bit the bullet and stripped him down.
So, it going to be a full clean and repaint of parts, new seals, lands, bolts, shoes, brake pipes, the works, Ive even powerbrushed the rear chassis and red oxidededed it while its accessible
One thing to note is, I need bigger axle stands, 3 ton halfrauds are fine for routine **** but removal of an axle needs something taller,Machinemart do some tall 6 ton jobbies for around £40, I will be purchasing some soon.
I may post some pics of oily parts followed by painted parts followed by new parts.

I've warned you about drinking that Guinness stuff, Pete!
See you tomorrow - not in CYD though maybe????
Dave
-
So you'll not be going to Newbury in CYD tomorrow then?
-
Ah, pictorial proof.
BUT I'm sure CYD will be ready in time Pete
HHH

I can see the problem, - your back axle fell off on the High Street.
-
you must have been bored or got carried away enjoying the sunshine
